Award Winning Study Using Traverse Climbing Boards In Claddagh

Claddagh N.S. Galway wins Award at Dublin PExpo

Claddagh National School had an installation done of 10 Traverse Climbing Boards last Feburary. The school participated in a study carried out in conjunction with Enda Butler from GMIT, submitting a unique entry based on their new SmallWall climbing boards.

The study “Grasping Learning” investigated the effect of teaching climbing skills on their grip strength and earned them 2nd place at this years PExpo in DCU. The five week project concluded that fundamental movement skills inproved; that grip strength increased significantly in the experimental group.

The climbing wall is amazing and such a huge hit with the children. They love taking part and it is a great core workout that everyone can complete. We use it during PE and we have even extended it’s use to our Infant classes who climb with a buddy from 6th helping
