St Josephs NS Castlemaine is located in Castlemaine, Co Kerry. St Josephs was the winner of the climbing bridge in our school giveaway competition in March 2021 to mark the hard work of teachers and schools around Ireland during the Pandemic and teaching online.
Principal Mairead Curran entered and nominated her school. When we contacted Mairead to let her know of the schools win she was delighted as they were currently trying to raise funds in order to develop a play area for their specialised ASD support classes. The small rural school has an enrolement of 80 students of 4 mainstream classes and 2 ASD support classes with the hope of establishing an ASD preschool in Sept 2021.
We got some lovely feedback photos from the school in May 2021 showing some of the children enjoying their win.
